Kobe’s 10th birthday trip

Kobe and I went to Chicago to celebrate his 10th birthday – just the two of us.  We had an absolutely incredible time and despite the weather we got to get out and do it all!  Our first night there we stayed with our cousin Ben and the rest of the time we stayed with my best friend Steph.  We spent our first day at the ESPN zone playing arcade games and watching the live recording of In the Huddle, our 2nd day which was Kobe’s actual birthday, we did a Lego architecture class at the Frank Lloyd Wright museum, did the Skydeck in the Sears Tower in the afternoon – Ben got us Fast Pass tickets – it was really foggy but it was so cool up there – Kobe said it was one of his favorite things, then hung out with Aunt Stephie, and then went to the Bulls game at night.  Truly an awesome day.  When we walked in the door of Steph’s apartment she was standing there with a cupcake with a candle in it and singing Kobe Happy Birthday – she always goes above and beyond to make everything special for my kids – we couldn’t love her any more for it!  Sunday we hung out all morning with Steph again and then went to lunch and to the Blue Man Group (the tickets were a gift from Gm Barbie, Gp GB and Gama!) – the show was absolutely amazing – I would go again any day – it was awesome plus the theater was really small and we were in the 4th row so it made it all the better. Then back to Steph’s, and we ordered in thai food and watched a movie.  Monday we spent the day at the Museum of Science and Industry – very fun but exhausting place! I got to have dinner with a friend of mine that lives out there Monday night and then we packed up and got ready for our very very early departure on Tuesday.  An amazing trip – and even better to get to spend 4+ days with just Kobe.  Love ya’ little man. 🙂
